The Bernardine Cistercian Sisters of Oudenaarde have the joy of inviting you to celebrate with them the "100 years of life" of Sister Marie Michel VANHERK; a person of faith, service and compassion.
The thanksgiving Mass will take place on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Notre-Dame de Cîteaux High School, Kigali.
It will be followed by a moment of fraternal sharing around our dear centenarian.
Together, we want to give thanks for the gift of her life and celebrate this fidelity of the Lord. Your presence will be for us a testimony of affection and recognition.

Sister Marie Michel Vanherk has dedicated her life to serving the sick, the poor, and the most vulnerable in Rwanda. Through her commitment, she has embodied the values of love, compassion, and selfless service.
Throughout her ministry, she has supported generations of families, providing not only medical care, but also spiritual and human comfort. Her testimony of faith and strong sense of duty have left a profound impact on both the religious community and Rwandan society.
Reaching a century of life is, for her, a sign of special grace, and her legacy remains a source of inspiration for young religious sisters, healthcare professionals, and all those who believe in the dignity of human life.
Sister Marie Michel will forever be remembered as a pillar of charity, a model of perseverance, and a light that continues to illuminate the history of the Bernardines Sisters Congregation and of Rwanda.
